How selection works
We do not work from a fixed list of criteria. The curation team reviews each application on the strength of the work itself: a distinct point of view, consistency across the body of work, the quality of execution and materials, and how the pieces sit alongside the designers already represented.
The Oblist represents a limited number of designers and prioritises singularity over volume. Decisions are made at the curation team’s discretion and are final.
How to apply
Applications are submitted through the form on https://oblist.com/pages/joining-the-oblist-as-a-designer. Please include a portfolio, a short presentation of your practice and, where relevant, details of editions, materials and production.
Our curation team reviews every application and will reply by email. We do not provide feedback on applications that are not retained.
Declined applications
We do not share the detail of curation decisions and do not provide feedback on the work submitted. There is no formal reapplication process; applications are considered on their merits at the time they are received.
