What should I do after a missed delivery?

How to use carrier tracking, reschedule or collect a parcel, and get help before it is returned to the seller.

If you miss a delivery attempt, use the instructions provided by the carrier and act before its holding or return deadline.

Check the latest carrier status

Open the tracking link from your shipping confirmation or account. The carrier's live tracking is the source of truth for the next available action.

Depending on the carrier, destination and service, you may be offered one or more of the following:

  • schedule another delivery attempt;

  • choose a different delivery day;

  • collect the parcel from a carrier facility, post office or pickup point;

  • redirect it to a neighbour, reception or security desk; or

  • use a signature-release or leave-safe option where permitted.

These options are not available on every shipment.

Collecting the parcel

Follow the exact instructions in the delivery notice or tracking page. The carrier may request identification, the delivery notice, a QR code or an authorization from the named recipient. Requirements vary, so do not rely on a generic document list.

If the parcel is held or returning

Contact the carrier promptly when tracking shows an address issue, missed attempts or a collection deadline. If the parcel is already being returned to the seller, The Oblist applies the returned-to-sender process in section 9.1 of the Terms & Conditions.

That process can involve reshipment, store credit or refund, with the applicable return and outbound shipping costs.

When to ask The Oblist for help

Continue in the current chat and share:

  • The Oblist order number;

  • carrier and tracking number;

  • the latest tracking status; and

  • a screenshot of any error or deadline.

Do not open a duplicate request. If the parcel is lost, damaged or marked delivered but not received, start the appropriate claim through returns.oblist.com.
